Sjömanssalen “the Sailors’ ward” - a historic building now renovated into a modern villa situated in the most affluent neighbourhood of Höganäs, next to the harbour with stunning views of the ocean and bay area.Spacious villa of 200 sqm including 4 bedrooms with 4 permanent beds, sleeping 7 and with another 5 possible sleeping places in sofa beds. Large terrace deck of 80 sqm installed with outdoor furniture and barbecue for long summer nights. Enjoy the morning coffee on the small balcony upstairs with panoramic views of Oresund and Kullabygden. Large well-equipped kitchen with a kitchen island adapted for inclusive cooking and a smaller dining area. In the living room there is a separate dining table with a seating capacity of up to 14 people. The house was built in 1913, financed by the Church’s sewing association, as a meeting place for the many sailors who at that time arrived at Höganäs harbor. “The Sailors’ ward” is located on a ledge above the harbour, only a couple of minutes’ walk to a fantastic family-friendly bathing area with both docks and sandy beach, marina and a variety of restaurants. “Saluhallen”, the county-wide acclaimed market hall of Höganäs with a wide selection of food and other delicacies, is located in the immediate area as well as there are several large well-equipped grocery stores/supermarkets within close reach. The house is well connected on bike paths, namely the former railway to Mölle and Kullaleden, a hiking trail along the coast from Helsingborg to Halmstad. Höganäs is a charming town with an emphasis on food and high quality of life. The city is located in the heart of Swedish ceramics tradition, home to both retailers, art exhibitions and museums. Höganäs is surrounded on the same Peninsula by many quaint fishing villages and Kullaberg, a large nature reserve with an array of activities to offer from magnificent cliffs by the sea to beautiful beech forests. In terms of public transport, there are excellent communications by bus to Helsingborg (closest major city), every 15-20 minutes. From Helsingborg, there is a train to Copenhagen Airport (nearest international airport) which takes approximately 1 hour; to Gothenburg approximately 2 hours and to Stockholm just under 5 hours. You can also fly to Stockholm from Ängelholm-Helsingborg Airport, a regional airport only 30 minutes by car from Höganäs with other destinations varying with season. In addition, from Helsingborg there are ferry services to Denmark for nice day trips to Helsingør and Copenhagen.
